Rock Paper Productions is a female-led TV production company based in Newcastle upon Tyne, specialising in documentaries and factual entertainment. With a 360 podcast, digital and broadcast strategy, we focus on finding unique access in new territories. We aim to reflect bold perspectives and heart, to tell real stories that inform, inspire, and resonate with audiences.

Cat Donohoe- Founder
Cat, originally from Newcastle Upon Tyne, has spent the past the past 15 years working both nationally and internationally in the TV industry. She has won commissions for two independent documentaries that were broadcast on the BBC - M.E and Me and Disablilitease: Owning The Stage. Both documentaries follow strong female, or female identifying, characters with invisible disabilities.
Cat has worked across factual, factual entertainment and drama. Producing the popular two-part docudrama Vardy V Rooney: A Courtroom Drama (Channel 4) starring Michael Sheen, Natalia Tena and Chanel Cresswell.

Head of Development- Meriel Beale
Meriel has worked in TV for over 20 years, both developing and producing on shows spanning multiple genres such as Through the Keyhole for ITV, Big Painting Challenge for BBC1, Britain's Got More Talent for ITV2, Motorhoming with Merton and Webster for C5, and Fiennes: Return To The Wild for National Geographic.
Meriel has an extensive industry network including broadcasters, agents and industry bodies and is extremely experienced in working with high-profile talent. Meriel has campaigned to improve working conditions in the industry, appearing on TV and radio, speaking on industry panels and contributing to major newspapers. She is a full Bafta voting member and is a Bectu anti-bullying and harassment rep.


Commercial Financial Consultant- Mark Raeburn
Mark has over 25 years' experience in media finance, having spent 18 years of his career working at Channel 4, where he spent the later part of his career there as Head of Content Finance and was responsible for managing the c.£700m programme budget, alongside earlier roles as the finance lead on such projects/channel launches such as E4/Film 4 free/More 4/Channel 4+1, and 4od.
Mark has also spent nearly 10 years working on the production side leading on commercial and financial strategy including roles such as MD of Renowned Films, he current holds the role of CFO at Minnow Films, Curious Films, Freedom Scripted, Spirit Studios, and Jolly Octopus Media.
